After Dr. Kole Leaves CORI....
I just found out today when Dr. Kole leaves at the end of July (my CSR didn't even bother to tell me, i found out today when i got a random 'survey call' from one of the manager types) I was informed that i will be handled by Dr. Wood. Has anybody had him as a surgeon that can tell me how their expierence personally was?.. i haven't even met him, i did meet Dr. Kole and absolutely adored him. thank you in advance!
This would explain why my initial letter said I had Dr. Kole as a surgeon, but when I got my confirmation call, it was with Dr. Taylor. Anyway, I have not personally met Dr. Wood, however those I have talked to simply adore him. He and Dr. Sapala were apparently the ones that came up with the Sapala-Wood micropouch and he had thousands of surgeries under his belt. I would have to say by what I have heard and read, you are in very capable hands!
I followed my surgeon to his new office. It only made sense to me. Like someone posted earlier, it's about the surgeon and you not the office. They knew he was leaving months ago and let you believe everything was fine. When you follow him everything stays the same. You might even get your surgery sooner.
Here is Dr. Kole's office number 586-276-8130
Positive vibes.

I'm going to have Dr. Wood and thinks he's wonderful. I liked him immediately. And Shawn's right---he literally has over 2000 surgeries under his belt---can't get much more experienced than that. He's really a pioneer in the field of WLS. Plus I know personally that he's called upon to do other difficult surgeries in the hospital by other docs, so obviously he's highly regarded by his colleagues. Your definately in good hands!!!
I have not met Dr. Wood but I have heard great things about him. Dr. Kole is my surgeon and he did tell me quietly about 2 months ago that he was moving to another office close to the cori Center and they would be excepting all the insurances that Cori excepts. I absolutley loved Dr. Kole. He is very honest and straight forward with me. Thats what I need and I will be following him to his new office.
