I need some help/advice
Hi Everyone,
I stopped drinking my protein drinks because I was able to get it all in by eating. Ever since I went back to work I haven't gotten near enough of anything in. I went to fit day and discovered I was only taking in 20-30 grams of protein, and between 300 and 400 calories. No wonder I feel tired all of the time. Today I started drinking my protein drinks again and trying to eat more. Here it is 8:10 pm, and I only have gotten in 59 proteins, and almost 500 calories. I know I still have time to eat, but I feel so full I don't think I can eat anything else before I go to bed. The question is do our pouches shrink? It's not a stricture because I can eat and drink with out any problems(I think I'm to far out for strictures now anyhow). It's just that I can't eat very much at all again. For example I ate part of a cheese stick, 4 cherries, and a saltine(wheat) cracker and felt so stuffed I had to unzip my pants. I try to eat every 3 to 4 hours. I am always sipping my water/crystal light. Does anyone have any suggestions. As always thank you.

I would stick with the protein drinks, i still do them at almost 2 years out. what kind of job do you have? I would stick with dairy and meats to make sure you get in all the vitamins and protein you can, you don't really need the carbs. Are you taking your vitamins right? Try smaller meals more often if you can, or if at work, keep a small ziploc bag handy to nibble on like beef jerky or cheese. i hope this helps you

Thank you for the advice. Dairy I can do but, I don't tolerate meats very well at all. They make me pretty sick. I was eating meatless (Soy) meat. I dont have time to fix them while working. I try to eat that kind of stuff when I get home. My surgeon changed my vitamins and calcium supplements and I have to take each of them 4 times a day three hours apart. I work as a cook~and no I can't eat any of the foods we prepare~everything is so high in fats and sugars I'm sure it would kill me. I am eating cheese, but have a hard time getting food in without feeling so full. I never thought my pouch would/could shrink back so small.

Dr. Kole and I had a rather lengthy discussion on this subject last winter. I stated that I still drink a shake everyday first thing. He felt that was a smart idea even as far out as I am. I am jump starting my system and with the all the vites I am getting I am keeping my levels at the right spot. I was concerned about the regular food thing- you know - getting in a normal mode. There is nothing normal about how we have to refuel so a shake is a good idea. Dr. Schuhknecht had me switch to a different brand to help stabilize my weight but he wanted me to keep the vite aspect because my blood work was has been consistently spot on.
