Hi Michelle, Yes, the meetings will continue to be held monthly. A nurse from the hospital is going to take over running them. She seems really nice and quite informed. They did mention they would be contacting former and current patients as well as sending out mailers. A belated happy birthday to you! Perhaps we can meet at the next meeting. Sorry it took me so long to respond to this post. I've been really busy at work and then at home, well you know the kids, house, etc. My time on the computer has been rare. Take care, Shari

As Shari mentioned, while I was in the hospital for surgery I was told by the nurses that they will not be renewing their program with Liv-Lite. I used Liv-Lite, which did my paperwork and orchestrated my psych evaluation. At first they seemed 'okay'. Then when my coordinator got let go (thank goodness my paperwork was at BCBS already and my approval came a week later) I had to call repeatedly to get someone on the phone to take care of my issues or questions. That was generally the one person that was left in the office. I really was not that impressed with them near the end. I had Dr. Pesta and he is awesome! Shelly, his office manager, is very helpful also. I know he generally has Dr. Marshall in surgery with him, so I felt pretty confident that I was being well taken care of. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give Dr. Pesta a 100. Michelle

I went through Liv-Lite and Had Dr. Pesta. He was great, very caring, knowledgable. Henry Ford was wonderful as far as the care I received. I'd choose him again over any of the other Doctors I had gone to seminars for.

Thanks everyone for all of the great responses. I called Liv-Lite and did not like the person I spoke with, so I will go ahead and nip that right in the bud. I am going to call Henry Ford and see where I get with them. I was so disappointed because I had gone to my consult at Barix Clinics and really loved the surgeon there but then only to find out about this center of excellence stuff. I was also looking into CORI and have a date for a consult with Dr Woods on 7/25. I was worried that they were not a center of excellence but they do everything out of Harper University hosipital which is a center of excellence. Marjorie, my rep, assured me and is supposed to be working with my insurance before the apt next Tuesday to make sure this is the case. I will keep everyone posted and would love to still hear from people.

Well it looks like I am going to be able to go through CORI. They informed me they just received their "center of excellence" approval on 7/14. Lucky for me. They are now approved through Blue Card. So that may be different than Medicare and what they consider a center of excellence? Not sure just thinking out loud : )
