My husband made me DUMP!
Hi Michelle, I too have found out that loading up with protein once I start feeling horrible will help me come out of the dump alot faster. Make sure you have something in the house at all times and with you if you go somewhere so that you can start muching. I grab cheese and meat (ususally jerky). Take care and kiss your honey and tell him next time will be better!!
Congratulations on graduating from the University of First Dump! At least now you know what it feels like. The first time, it can scare you. Don't be too hard on your hubby because you will make some mistakes yourself. It is easy to do, especially when you are eating at a restaurant. Be sure to ask a lot of questions of your waitress when you do go out. You will be amazed at how many foods have loads of sugar. I dumped real hard on cole slaw, spinach dip and other things you wouldn't think had sugar. You only have about a 400 more dumps to go to catch up to me!
Jon
Jon,
I didn't want to be a graduate. But I am somewhat glad it happened, and that I was at home. Atleast I know what signs to watch for. Hubby is learning and I wasnt mad at him for it. He was more mad at himself than I was at him.
Eating out kinda scares me yet. We are going out tomorrow night and I'm a little nervous about it. I just keep telling myself - stick to mashed potatoes!
Cole slaw I can understand. But spinach dip? That is odd. On another note, I don't think I want to CATCH UP TO YOU!! Thanks, but no thanks. You can keep that trophy!
Michelle
Michelle,
Be glad you did dump! Sorry to say it that way I don't dump sometimes I works in the back end but once I'm done I feel better but I can eat almost anything and I don't dump. What I do eat is not much but I wish I had a reminder at times that I'm not suppose to have sugars....
Take care and hope you are feeling fine now,
Renee
Hi Michelle,
I'm amazed it happened 40 minutes after you ate. Every time I've dumped it was immediately after eating the offending food. I've only dumped 3 times, but it seems to get worse each time. I hope you're feeling better now. At least you know you can't tolerate sugar~it's a blessing in disguise. Be sure to sip extra water~that seems to help me, also warm tea helps a lot to sooth my hurting pouch. Take care.
God bless you,
Annette
Annette,
I have been told that everyone can dump differently, so I guess my time is about 30 minutes delayed! Hehe, atleast if I don't start feeling well I have some time to get where I need to be before it gets really bad.
I started drinking the protein and within an hour I felt almost normal. Guess I am going to have to keep that protein with me at all times. I will have to pick some tea up next time I am getting groceries and try that. Thank you for your thoughts and support.
Michelle
OMG! I would never have thought that brown sugar ham would do that. I know it is sugar but I didn't think it would be enough. WoW! That is good for me to know, not that I am glad that it happened to you, but at least I know one thing to beware of. Hope you are feeling better and I am sorry you went through that.

Shawn,
I looked on the label it was only 2 grams of sugars. So I don't know. Guess my body just cannot handle it now, even with the small amount of sugar.
I was feeling better after an hour or so. Thank goodness I started in on the protein drink, that helped. Thank you for your thoughts and support.
