This morning my dear husband made me an egg with finely chopped onions and ham and cheese. It was pretty good. I did not eat it all as I had just worked on part of my protein drink not long before he made it. About 40 minutes later my heart started to beat fast, my forehead started to feel very warm to hot, I got very sickly feeling, my stomach was in knots. I ran to the bathroom and tried to but just got the dry heaves. Then I had an so I grabbed the Isopure from the fridge and started drinking it. I asked my husband what he put in the eggs. He said nothing but the onions, cheese and ham. I asked what kind of ham. He said 'oh s>>t! Brown sugar ham!' Ten minutes later I am on the and finally starting to feel better. I think he's too scared to do that again. Michelle, who just had her first dumping experience. 311/283/140

Hehe I will have to forward that advice of reading the labels to hubby. Hubby feels really, really bad though. He had to leave for work and then felt even worse. I think he learned his lesson... DO NOT GIVE WIFE SUGAR! Michelle

Isn't it just a wonderful feeling! It's like you're gonna die. I know for me it is. Well at least you know how sick sugar will make you. I have that reaction when it is too much fat also. Glad you're feeling better. Take care, Carey

OMG, it was terrible. Atleast hubby learned, the hard way, to not give me sugar! Thank you for your thoughts. Michelle

Michelle, I know oh so well how bad a dump can be! (See my post from yesterday) and so I can definately sympathize with you! Do as Kevin suggested to me yesterday...take some extra vitamins & load up on the good protein for the day and you will come through it just fine!

Tracy, I just read your post. OMG, what a terrible thing for that lady to do! I don't know if I would run her over or strangle her! I feel bad for hubby though. Here I am, only two weeks out and he's not figuring things out yet (between being in and out of the hospital I have only been home about 9 days and on soft/mushy food, while home, for 6 days). Hopefully he will start getting adjusted to what I can and cannot eat rather soon. I think he will pay more attention now. I think the Isopure Zero Carb really started to help. It was not long after I started to drink it that I began to feel better. Thank goodness I did not eat the whole egg he made!! Michelle

Michelle you won't believe this now, but one day you will be glad that you dump. I didn't dump for the first 20 months, could have as much sugar as i wanted, even a coke didn't bother me. Then it happened, and it happened big time. I was at sams and sampled a pizza, only a tiny square of it. five minutes later i was making hubby leave. My face was green, i was dizzy, and felt like i was gonna pass out. as soon as i got home i was in the bathroom for an hour . i puked like crazy too. i drunk protein my whole time in there to make me feel better and finally ended up in bed sleeping. so not only sugar will make you dump, carbs, fat, and not eating will do it too. So be careful and read your labels, it will get easier as time goes by. Hugs Linda
