Thanks for the reply kevin. I was fired for missing four days, one of which i used a personal day. I hadn't worked there very long, but had notes from the emergency room and doctors for every time. They would not accept them and said it was unexcused. This really sucks! Linda

Linda, Sounds like you are a GREAT mom - and you are doing the right thing to stay home and take care of her. As for those damn bills that never go away, give everyone a call and I bet you can get an extension until your $$$ starts coming in from unemployment. Sadly, our bills pile up on me and so I do just that - good luck hon!

Linda, Sorry to hear of what you are going through. Hoping that things start to look up for you sometime soon. I am sure you probably have, but have you called the utility companies and asked for a payment plan or extension and explain to them your situation, especially the medical aspect? While I was in the hospital off and on for the past two weeks I forgot to make our boat payment. They called to remind us about it and asked why it was late. I said that I was sorry, but just had surgery and have been in and out of the hospital for the past two weeks. She took off the late charge for us (it was 10 days past due and they assess the charge after 7). Michelle

thanks Michelle I am going to call the utilities today, and hope it works. It's just really hard for me because of my pride LOL. I am never late like this and never have shut offs. I'm praying it works Hugs Linda

From what I understand, the utility companies are more willing to work with you when you contact them. A good friend of ours went through a similar situation. As long as they kept their end of the 'agreement' the company worked with them. Hope it helps! Michelle

Give a call to the Salvation Army (or to your local church), they can often provide aid with utilities and food. I hope that you get quick and definitive answers about your daughter, the not knowing is so very scary!
