I am going before the review board on Aug 1st... I am praying so hard for some miracle to take place so that I can get approved and have my surgery before the end of the fall season. I have been working for years to lose this weight, this is the perfect stepping stone I need to get "back" in shape. Has anyone else tried M-Care? Are there any exceptions they make?

I have no clue about insurances. But good luck. I hope you get approved and can get going on your weight loss. Shawn 304

Thanks for the support, right now getting healthy is my main goal so I am ready to jump with both feet into the program.

Hi Sharmie, I don't have mcare, but have blue care network and had to do this same thing. Did you prepare what you are going to say? Make sure to have all your ducks in a row. Have all your research done because they will ask you questions. It's actually a good thing going there so they can see you and see what you are going through. Good luck! Hugs Linda

Hi Sharmie, I just looked at your profile and saw that you are going to UofM and are going up before the MCare review board. I have an appointment with the nutritionist and program director at UofM on August 1 and I also have MCare. You are the first person I've seen that is going to UofM and using MCare. I didn't even know there was a review board in the process. Since you are ahead of me in the process, I can't answer your question but I would absolutely love to find out anything I can from you. I started seeing my PCP last August, but haven't been exactly once per month. I don't know if this will kill my chances or not. If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to hear more about your experience so far. Angela

Hmmmm lets see, as far as helping, I feel like I cannot do much, I feel at a loss most days, I actually go before the review board with bill and the U of M group, I thought it was with M-care. They meet and then they ha**** out with the insurance company, Your meeting will go well with them, just be yourself and they will do all they can to help you,They are AWESOME!!!!

I was most specifically wondering how long the process with UofM took for you. I have my first meeting with Patti and Bill on the 1st of August. Assuming things go well, how long does it typically take to get through the nutrition and psych evals with them? Thanks, Angela
