Kevin, I'm sorry you have such feelings about CORI. I wish I could read your profile to find out why. Dr. Wood did my surgery - I chose him because of his experience and truthfully I didn't care that much about the program. It seemed to me, after researching the programs in this area, they're pretty much the same, unlike the experience of the surgeons at the various programs. However, I've had nothing but good experience with CORI. I feel bad that newbies read these posts and get an unfairly negative impression of CORI. I hope they can take it all with a grain of salt. I'm not picking on you, I just feel bad that you feel the way you do..... Karen

It's not unfair. They suck. I spent a lot of time putting out fires and "Sticking up" for CORI - not my words, the docs - only to have my wife lied to treated like dirt by them. But it all worked out in the end. She got to go back to school for free because of their stupidity. But leave me out of the equation. The story of the man who was put on hold, got in his car and drove thirty plus minutes to the office and when he got there he was still on hold and the office was dark and closed for the night!!! Good for business. That's just one of many stories from there. My wife taking abuse from all directions when she was left to do a seminar by herself- she couldn't answer insurance or medical questions because she was not part of the medical staff. I had to track down the doc. The list goes on,,,,, but I am too old and am running out of time. My profile is blocked because I have to protect my brother from himself. He reads my profile and gets mad because I wasn't all choked up over my mother croaking last year. Weird, I know but it's the truth. He is as sick as she was and would actually go into a rage because I was more bugged about my old band director passing. And I didn't take it personally so don't sweat it. It's cool. kp

OK. I've lurked and lurked on this board. I've posted a few times, because everyone in Michigan actually seems to post on their message board, as opposed to Oregon's MB, where there is a post every few days. My husband and I are coming from Oregon to have surgery there (because of price, mostly) and so I have really appreciated reading and talking to some of you Michigan peoples. I have to tell you that I crack up every time I read the posts you put up. The tire post was such a hit at my house, because my husband would have done exactly the same thing. He is forever teaching our son to be Manly. I did wonder why you didn't have a profile, though, so I'm glad to know why. Nosy, huh? Yep, can't be cured. Ever been to Usta's site? The before and after pictures are awesome. Hope nobody minds an Oregonian lurking on your site. Oh well, if they do, I won't take it personally. LOL Kim

You are one of us if you get cut or live in Michigan. We even took in Jay against our better judgement but we like Mel so much we had no choice. Just Kidding. Keep us posted when you are here and we'll help you out. kp

Thanks for the welcome... Our flight comes in at 6 friggin o'clock in the morning on 7/25. So after a last goodbye breakfast, we'll head out to our hotel and get acquainted with the grocery stores in the beautiful city of Auburn Hills. Crystal light and SF popcicles here we come. His surgery is on 7/27 at POH medical center. Everyone there has been really nice and has followed up with us several times. Dr. Pleatman is doing his surgery. Heard anything about him? I googled him and he checks out pretty well. His office staff is sure on the ball, so that's a good thing, I guess. If everything goes well with him, I should be there in Jan/Feb to have RNY too. He's my guinea pig. Thanks again for the welcome, and I'll make sure to not take anything from any blue haired little old ladies. They'll get ya everytime! Kim

I'll get you around too. I lived in AH for 6 years. POH is west of AH. If you are staying on Opdyke you are really close to a lot of things. I'll whip you up some broth and bring you anything you need. We can do this. It'll be a breeze. kp

I'm glad it's cool because you are a fun guy. I'm also glad to know a little bit about your story. I hope, at least judging from my experience, that CORI seems to be getting their act together and hopefully none of that stuff will happen to anyone else. They have awesome surgeons. Karen
