How long is your incision?? (Open)

Several people who know that I had this surgery have commented 'you are going to have a big scar'. When I show or tell them long my scar is they are in shock! So my question is........HOW LONG IS YOUR INCISION??

My incision is 4-3/8 to 4-1/2 inches long.

that's about right. i decorate mine for christmas. that increases the shock factor. u

Granted I am not 100% healed yet - but my incision is 9 1/2 inches long (yeah, I got a big one!).... but I really think it is going to heal up nicely.... I thought they were pulling my leg when they said you'd end up with a faint white line for a scar... the way it looks, that might be true, but I am sure it will take time to get to that point. What is they say about Open RNYers with BIG ones????? Wait... that's a different message board

I had 5 little incisions, the biggest one is about 1/2 in inch long ~ very small the other 4 I have to look for when I show them to anyone. God bless you, Annette

Hi Michelle, Mine is just at 6 inches now. When I first had surgery it was 9. Since then I've lost 158 lbs, and it shrunk!!! I also have a little scar about the size of a pinkie fingernail to the direct left of the lower part of the scar from drainage tube. It's also shrunk since my weightloss. And the actual incision is straight as a rulers edge! Stacey W

HI Michelle, I am not sure how long my scar is now because of my PS but I can tell ya, as I lost weight, it got smaller & smaller!! I thought I was split from ear hole to butthole! Sure felt like it at times! lol It will shrink considerably with time! Take care DE

Ok mine I have many little 2 to 3 in*****isions from three lap surgeries but this last one was open and boy it is about 61/2 inches long and boy does it hurt alot. Tricia

Mine is about 4 1/2 inches. It looks like it is shrinking though. I got "nerve" to buy a two piece for the BACKYARD ONLY!!! And the scar isn't burning or anything weird either.
