BCN CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

I got the official list of centers of excellence for bcn. They are as follows: harper hospital, detroit henry ford hospital, detroit hurley, flint mercy general, muskegon munson medical, traverse city spectrum, grand rapids. This goes into effect 8/1/06 and you still need pre-approval from bcn to have surgery.

Stacy I had such a hard time getting approved with BCN. It took me over a year. Some people have gotten approved alot quicker than me though with out any problems. Just stay encouraged and dont give up. And keep copies of everything Dayja

For the people who have been approved but not had surgery, you can still go to the doctor and hospital that you had originally signed up with. I called to make sure this was true from BCN's grievance department and Cheryl told me it takes effect on July 1, 2006 and that if you were approved prior to that, you will have no problems (thank goodness, since Beaumont has not returned their request for excellence as of yet) she also said BC/BS will be doing the same thing.
