Psych Eval Question

I got a call from the Dr today and she said my test came back non-compliant. She said she was still going to approve me with the condition that I attend support groups. Does that mean after surgery? St Mary Mercy offers support groups as part of their normal program for people who have had the surgery. I just hope this doesn't give BCN another reason to deny me. What do you think? I think I am still in shock because I have done so much research and I am really looking forward to being on the losers side. I will do whatever the doctors tell me to do, whatever the insurance company tells me to do, whatever I have to do to make sure I get approved. It's just wierd.

If you feel the Psych Dr. is wrong, I'd go to another one. BCN is hard enough to get approved thru, let alone with a failed psych test. Best of luck! Theresa

I'd do a little research and find a doctor that is familiar with and supportive of wls -- even if you have to pay out of pocket. It is worth it. I don't have BCN but from what I read it is difficult enough to get approved, I'd want to give them no reason to deny! Just my two cents.

My original psych eval was with a different doctor, who was out of my network, and I paid out of pocket and BCN denied me because I didn't go in network. Even though they told me it didn't have to be an in network doctor. They have me running in circles.

Give Paula a call at St. Mary's. She will give you good advice. The support groups make sense anyway, they give good info and supposedly people who attend do better losing and keeping it off. The next support group is July 26, you should join us!
