patiently waiting...or maybe not :angst:
Hi all. I love to read your postings....i learn a lot 
. I am waiting for Dr. Saber's nurse to call me for an appt. to submit all of my stuff to insurance. I have dotted all my I's and crossed all my T's. I pray all is there. I am interested in any of you from the Kalamazoo area. I need some support here. I kind of feel like i am all alone in this. I look forward to your responses.

You have an A-W-E-S-O-M-E surgeon!!! 
You will be so happy that you chose him. Along with myself, I know quite a few people who've had him and all of us have had EXCELLENT results! I like that he's conservative in his procedure; that I know of none of his patients have had strictures or dumping problems. (Although, you DO need to follow his rules and the new rules for you pouch.)
I had my surgery with him in December, although I was originally scheduled in Nov and although I was on the table - all hooked up to iv's, he cancelled my surgery because they discovered a pre-surgical test had been missed by the hospital. Pat and Bonnie are wonderful and jump through hoops to get your insurance stuff done. I don't know if you go to the support group that he has, but do to the scheduled day, I'm not able to attend.
As to being alone, everyone here on the MI board is SO wonderful! You'll find so much support and information - it's a great great group of people. Do you have any family support?

Hi Lori, I too had Dr.Saber and like Sheryl said, he is AWESOME!! I didn't have any problems with my surgery. I am dealing with a little complication but it will get better. Dr.Saber is so caring. He came to see me everyday when I was in the hospital this time. He will sit there with you and take all the time you need to help you. And another person who works with him who you will meet on the day of your surgery is Karen Orr. She is his assistant while you are in surgery and in the hospital. She is soooooooooooooooo SWEET! She was a god send for me. She answers questions very detailed so you can understand what's going on. So does Dr.Saber but she will check on you sometimes by herself. You are in great hands. I am praying that the insurance gets approved and things go well for you. In the mean time keep coming here and reading profiles and posting. This site has been so much help to me. I love that this is the one place where everyone understands what I am going through. Keep us updated!!
