Questions about TT
Well gang I am about 18 months out now, and I have lost 150 pounds so I am officially half the person I used to be. I am due for my TT. I am waiting until after my vacation this fall to schedule it. I want to earn as much money as I can before I take time off. I have some questions about the procedure though.
How long are you in the hospital?
How long are you off of work?
Did you get short term disability while you were off?
Did you have to take FMLA?
If you have flabby thighs too did you look weird having a flat tummy and jelly thighs?
I trust my surgeon 1000% so I know he will do a good job. Just some questions. I am starting to develop little bumps underneath my belly pouch right now. I know I will not have any trouble getting approved. At least I hope not!
On a side note, things are going along smoothly with my adoption. Our home study will be concluding next week and then we start our INS paperwork. This will get us ready for our dossier! Yeah! Finally will be able to send our paperwork to China. We already have a name picked, and are talking about decorating the nursery! I have to think of these positive things because this process can be very tough.

I had an anchor cut w/ muscle tightening. I was in the hosp. 1 night. It was during the summer so I was off anyway but if I was working I would have needed 4-6 weeks off since it was more than my lap RNY. My flat tummy looks great in pants which help hide my saggy thighs. Having the TT gave me an hourglass shape and it was so worth the pain and expense. Good luck!
Hi Suzanne,
I was in the hospital 24 hrs for my TT with muscle tightening and my breast reduction at the same time. They told me my expected return would be 2 weeks as the muscle tightening in the TT would be the hardest thing. With massive weightloss patients they say the drains tend to have to stay in longer and my anemia went out of control so I didn't return to work for 3 weeks. With my company anything over 5 days is considered short term disability and FMLA runs concurrent with that. I was an apple shape prior to WLS so my legs blended fine with my TT. Even though they release you so quickly to go back to work please keep in mind you will tire easily and it is probably at least 10 weeks before you get your energy back. Good Luck on the adoption and your TT!!!

I also have jelly thighs but I am so glad I had my tummy tuck! Having a flat tummy is so great...no more worrying about shirts being long enough to cover the flap! I just had the hip to hip cut. I was in the hospital 3 days I think (3rd morning I left) Sore, but doable with meds. I went back to work about 2 weeks later. I wore a binder, and that helped alot with standing, moving, etc. And also with the swelling. Best of luck to you Suzanne!!! You won't regret it! Hugs, Theresa
Hi Suzanne!!!
I was in the hospital for 3 days total! I had the full anchor cut with ab muscle tightening. My surgeon pulled me from every direction! Almost got a leg lift for free! I was only down for 2 weeks. Make sure you wear your binder! It really helps. I have really BAD jelly thighs but I just wear long shorts or pants. Hubby does not mind the jello thighs!
I am really thinking of you and your hubby and hope your adoption goes REALLY fast! I will keep you both in my thoughts!! Can't wait to see your bundle of joy!!!!!
