Thinned Cream of Wheat - YUCK

Dr. Pesta instructed me to start the next stage of foods today. This morning I was to have thinned (runny) Cream of Wheat, Oatmeal... cooked breakfast cereal. Hubby made the Cream of Wheat, but not thin enough so I told him to thin it out more. I tried one little nibble and could not stand it. He added some of my chocolate protein drink into it, for flavor. My stomach immediately did the 'OH NO! I'M NOT GONNA LET YOU HAVE THAT!' I ended up with my protein drink for breakfast. Anyone else have this problem so early out? What else should I try? Michelle

Are you on soft/mushy foods? Use the cream of wheat with splenda. Yogurt (mixes well with protein if you have a fruit/vanilla/unflavored kind), carnation instant bfast - make sure you use the the "no sugar added" and put it in cottage cheese or yogurt - it has 7g of protein to boost the amt of what ever you add it into, scrambled eggs (with or without cheese), ricotta cheese, spinach souffle by stoffers, pinto/refried beans thinned with sour cream, chili (blenderized)..... Oh and look at Carb Countdown by Hood. It has half the fat and calories, tastes very good - and the same amt of protein. Hopefully some of that helps. Sheryl In the Zoo

I am on thinned/runny cooked breakfast cereals, blended soups, etc. I will try it with splenda tomorrow. Maybe that it what it needs is some flavor. The chocolate flavored whey protein shake did not help any. In a few weeks I get to advance to cottage cheese and stuff like that. I can do yogurt right now so maybe I will try both of them together (not mixed). Thank you for your advice. Will let you know how things work out. Also, I have always mixed my protein shake with milk. I seem to be able to tolerate milk, so I am hoping that I will continue to tolerate it. Michelle

I liked the Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal - banana bread. I put in a cup of skim milk. I then divided it into 2, 4 oz containers. That worked for me. Robin

Michelle the quaker weight control oatmeal is good as Robin stated. I am not a big oatmeal fan but it was very good. Stacy
