Psych eval - what to expect?

Well I have my psych eval tomorrow. What should I expect?

I had to answer a couple hundered questions, many of them really strange ones. For example.. True or False "I have been on the cover of several magazines lately." Were they checking to see if I was dilusional? Then the Dr. just talked to me to see when I gained weight, if I knew what I was getting into, if I could handle the changes and if I had family support. 1 visit, no big deal. Good Luck!

They are, or should be, looking to see how emotionally stable you are to go on this journey. If you're an emotional eater, your best friend is about to be taken away. I can tell you that almost no ones eval is the same with the exception of many of us having to take a personality test. Some are several hundren long, mine (along with others here) was 600 or 700 ish long. They want to know what support you have (and if you don't have it - how you'll manage without it), do you recognize the changes you'll need to make, do you have a sound understanding of what you're about to undertake, etc. It is really not a scary or bad thing....they just want to make sure you're of sound mind. Now if they can approve me ........ Seriously, when I say each has a different exp, mine ended up talking to me about HIS problems. It was quite a trip! You'll do fine. Just be honest, answer directly but don't necessarily volunteer that you have dreams of killing skinny psychologists. Sheryl In the Zoo

I went for my psych eval yesterday and it was very easy. I just talked to the Dr for about 30 minutes and then I had to take the 165 question test. It was all true or false and yes they do ask the question about the Magazines. It had a lot of crazy questions like....I have flown over the atlantic ocean 30 times in the last month. My absolute favorite had to be the numerous times it stated...I am not answering these questions truthfully or I am holding back when answering these questions. I busted out laughing a few times. They just want to make sure you aren't crazy. It will be fine.
