Ok I have a question! I bought some "no sugar added" popsicles. Are these ok on the liquid fast? Also, after surgery does anyone eat sf/ff frozen yogurt? If not why is this bad for us? And why can't we have this pre op? Just curious. This liquid diet crap really sucks!! Just so you all know I am STARVING LOL. Hugs, Di

NSA does not mean SF. So be careful. I ate SF frozen yogurt. It was fine until the kid gave my wife regular by mistake. It was my first dump at three weeks. I was at home. I puked, shook, sweat, crapped like there was no tomorrow and saw God. kp

My limit is 7 grams of sugar over 40 minutes. You have to find yours and stick with it. If you are preop then you are cool but GAPS will blow on sugar. kp

I agree with KP, I have to limit my sugar intake to 8 grams in about 2 hours. I found that sugar free may have sugar alcohols, so watch those as well. I did my share of dumping eating sugar free stuff, and found it hard to eat anything with Splenda in it because it is close to sugar, and my WLS surgeon said I might have a problem with it and I did. Now I can use it but I do sparingly. I found that Equal works just as well and you'd literally have to eat about a ton of the stuff to get any damage done as previously claimed. The best thing is to read the labels and watch the sugar content and the sugar alcohols and then you set what your limits will be and stick to it. Stacey

Hi Diane, I think you should be OK with the NO sugar added popsicles before surgery and just try them afterwards if the sugar count is low enough it should be and usually no sugar added are fruit bars but I will tell you the best popsicles are the Kroger brand banana flavored I wish I would have found them on my preop diet. I feel you pain with the starving issue but just remember it will all be over soon and will be very well worth it!!!! PS I didn't know what GAP stood for either but I love the acronym(sp)..
