Has anyone worked with Dr. Scholten in Grand Rapids?

My boss had an open RNY done last November. When she heard that I was considering surgery she highly recommended Dr. Scholten. She said that he pioneered the surgery in Michigan, and that he is the best around. I was wondering if anyone else has worked him...and if so, what did you think? Thanks!

Yes I am having a revision done by Dr Vanderkolk and Dr Scholten is assisiting. I really like there office and there program is one of the best in the Grand Rapids area. The only down fall is that they only offer the open RNY procedure but there office can handle complicated cases and there aftercare is awesome. Dr Scholten has saved my life since I had this surgery because I have suffered from Complications that could not be detected by standard tests. I wish that I had my orginal surgery with there practice but I would highly recommend them to anyone. Tricia

I had Dr. Vanderkolk and my sister had Dr. Scholten do our surgery. I am 2 years out she is 1 1/2 years out. We are both very happy with our results. After checking into a few different surgeons I chose this office because it seemed more professional and less like a "business". Only problem I had with with "Amy" who did insurance...she is not very good about call backs. My sister had no problems...but her insurance was easier to deal with. I was very impressed with the hospital. donna
