Some Wows...
Sorry I have not been around for a few days. I am been in awe of my incredible shrinking and changing body.
Yesterday and the day before I experienced the Open RNY "leak". I was told that there would be some fluid leak from the lowest portion of my incision and that this was good. What happened what something out of a sci-fi movie. I am not kidding here, we believe on Thursday night I "leaked" at least a liter of fluid. Yesterday I had a steady drip/leak from 8:30 a.m. unit 4:00 p.m. I was on the phone with the nurses at my surgeon's office three times and they assured me this was GOOD and NORMAL and EXPECTED... but they were THRILLLED with the amount that I was expelling. I swear, I felt like a tapped maple tree in the fall.
Now today - I can bend, sit, roll over - do all the the things I could NOT do prior to the leaking episode. My shoulders and back don't ache as much... And all the stiffness has left my body. I am amazed.
I go to see my PCP on Monday for bloodwork and on Wednesday I get my staples out and advance to the next diet stage.
I have noticed that the girls are starting to go a bit south and they have lost some of their baggage, too. I see my ankle bones. My wedding ring completely comes off my finger now. There is no hope for my anniversary band. I may have to retire it to the jewlery box for sizing down the road - I sincerely believe I lost one of my chins... I definatley lost in my upper arms... WOW...
And my butt hurts. My my dear sweet hubby told me that there is not as much junk in the trunk anymore. All this only a week and a half post-op...
I have no idea of how many pounds all of this shrinkage amounts to. I will find out on Monday when I see my PCP. I do know that I am shrinking - if anything, it is inches....
Thanks for all of your well wishes!!
The Incredibly Amazing Shrinking Brandee
Your post made me smile Brandee! Oh, I remember those days! It is so amazing, you won't believe it! I remember walking into the bathroom and always being almost startled looking in the mirror and not seeing "me"....you know, the double-chinned, round-faced, no-cheekbone woman that used to be there. It's like someone else stole my body and I have this new one! Enjoy it! You are going to see LOTS more changes! Congrats to you! Theresa
I am so excited for you! And to think this is just the beginning. Don't worry about things going south. I have an amazing plastic surgeon for you in the future. His name is Dr. Vincent DiNick 800/282-0066. I promise you that this will be the name to remember when you are ready. I could not be happier. I am 2 1/2 yrs post op and just had my plastic surgery this past December - tummy tuck & breast lift. The girls are where they are supposed to be! I can't believe what a difference it has made and how my clothes fit and how I look. And of course how I feel about myself. Take care of yourself and do what they tell you. Get your protein, water, and vitamins in.
