okay you all know how expensive gas is nowadays. Well today i went to a bp station to get gas to cut the grass. I had a five gallon can. The can was 3/4 full and the pump said 5.042 gallons had been pumped. Can this be right? I went into the station and talked to the manager, who would not come out and see for himself, only argued that they make gas cans bigger to leave extra space! Does any of you know if that is true? I emailed the dept of agriculture and let them know, and i will not be going to this station anymore. If the manager would have at least acknowledged that something might be wrong and check it out, i wouldn't have done it.....but to treat me like a dumb blonde is not acceptable. By the way, the other bp right here just got fined a few months ago for the exact same thing.....like i have money to throw away!! Hugs Linda

i'd call an auto parts store and ask. and if they are cheating i'd alert the local media.

I went to the BP a couple of weeks ago and their automatic shut off didn't work. By the time I got the thing turned off there was a ton of gas on the ground. The manager didn't care. He just said he'd turn the pump off. Too frustrating with gas prices so high.

A 5 gal can, when full is, 5 gallons. You've been ripped off. Depending how angry you are........ you can report that station to the state of Michigan, here's an online form, posted on the michigan.gov website: michigan.gov/homeland/0,1607,7-173-23583_23713-64241--,00.html .... don't forget the http://www. at the beginning of the address. You can also check the prices at the address; michigan.gov/documents/gasconservation_87283_7_87625_7.html ....again remember the http://www. at the beginning of the address. Good luck, Elise
