I live in westland and I have bcn and I need a new pcp who will support my decision to have WLS. The joker I see now gives mixed signals...Gives me a referral and then tells bcn he never gave me one. I'm totally confused and we don't get along. Any suggestions??

Yes, my pcp is very supportive of the surgery and has had patients as far as ten years out from it. Her office is in Livonia, Merriman just north of Seven Mile. Dr Janice Summers 248 4744900. It is a busy practice but she never makes me feel rushed. Good luck!

There was a doc that visited me when I had my RNY. The day after he came in and checked all my incisions and tubes and such. He was an internist at DMC so he is affiliated with that hospital and I believe he works with St. John too. Maybe one of those two places can give you a recommendation. My PCP is bariatric friendly but he is way up here in Oxtucky. His name is Mathias Weitz. Very cool straight shooter. About a thousand years old and says it like it is. He takes care of about 20 or so GAPS up in this area. Maybe he can give a rec for you down by you? his number is 248 628-2597 If you call remember to tell his staff exactly what you are looking for and you heard of him through a bariatric (GAP). They will help you. kp

I live in Westland as well, but my PCP is at Domino's Farm in Ann Arbor. Dr. Jamie Weinstein 734-647-5680. She documented everything, is so understanding and wonderful. I wouldn't have been approved for my surgery at U of M this past March if it weren't for her. Worth the extra 20 minute drive. Hope this helps.
