Well, on wed. I went for my "pre-op" appointment with my dr. I of course being the worrier that I am started to freak out a little because "reality" set in for me. So, as I laid in bed I prayed to the Lord whether I was making the right choice for me. I feel asleep praying (that happens some times) and about 45 minutes I woke choking on acid I couldn't stop throwing up. YUP!!!!!!!!!! I'm making the right choice LMAO!!! Dang it couldn't have been any clearer. I of course couldn't stop coughing and gagging because my throat hurt so bad. So, I jumped on here to post the question if anyone knows how to get rid of the burning in the throat after that. Any suggestions would be great. Of course I took some Zantac and ate a couple pieces of bread and washed it down with a glass of milk. Didn't work. I couldn't get on here it kept saying website error. I was ticked!!! I finally fell asleep around 3 am with my throat on fire!!!! So, no more second guessing my choice. I know for sure this is what is best for me. LOL I can't wait for the day of no more acid reflux!!!!!!!! 24 days and counting. Hugs, Di

Good for you. It is an awesome feeling when you have peace about a decision or situation! I'm newer to this board and haven't posted much, but everyone sometime someone shares something -- it does have an impact -- in a positive way on others. Blessings!!!

Thanks Marie, Are you scheduled for surgery yet? I tell you Faith is an amazing thing to have. It sure does help in times like these. God's blessings, Di

Hi Di -- Nope, not yet. Gathering all the insurance requirements. Need to have psych eval and get summary letter of diet attempts from pcp. My pcp is on vacation for a few weeks, so I don't have an appt until July 14th; I'm calling on Monday to make an appt for the psych eval. The process never goes as fast as I like -- don't think I'll pray for patience -- God may just try and teach me some!!! He does have quite the sense of humor Blessings

Hey Di I also have that problem I was told to take liquid anacid because it coats your throat going down. Plus I sleep with like five pillows so I am laying on a incline and that also helps with keeping the acid from refluxing. I am glad that you are at peace with having your surgery. Dr Gluck is a great surgeon I have heard nothing but Great things about him and his program. He also tried to help me with my complications at one time. Good luck Tricia

Hey Tricia, Thanks for letting me know about the liquid anacid. I didn't know they made that. I do sleep with a lot of pillows as well but they don't seem to help. I agree about Dr. He is amazing!!! Thanks for the advice. God's blessings, Di
