Need help in finding WLS in SE Michigan

Hi everyone, I live near Detroit and am curious which WLS program would be best for me. I am leaning towards CORI right now but was not happy when I found out they used Harper Hospital since I had a bad experience in their ER once. I would love to hear any and all stories of people who have used CORI or other programs....good or bad experiences. Thanks everyone!!

Hi Jami I had dr John Webber, he is out of harper and huron valley in commerce twp. I had mine at harper and also had a bad experience with the nurses, but huron valley is a wonderful hospital. Hugs Linda

Jamie, I live in Southfield, also. I had my surgery done at Barix Clinics in Ypsilanti. It is about 40-45 minutes away, but it was worth it. The doctors and staff are awesome and they really care about you. I would not have changed anything about my experience wiht them. Good luck with your search.

Hello! I live in Westland and I see Dr. Zeni at St Mary Mercy in Livonia. He is so nice and his office staff are wonderful. Their number is 734-655-2692. I had an awesome surgeon. Well he is still awesome because he still takes care of me. His name is Steven Hendrick, he is based out of Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital his number is 734-285-7420. Once you become his patient you are his for life and he will always take care of you. Dr. Hendrick makes you feel very relaxed about any questions you may have. He has a nutritionist on staff, a couple of nurses, and his own office. He is one of those doctors that does not make you feel like you are rushed out of his office. I went thru Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit for my surgery. Dr. Genaw was my surgeon, but Dr. Carlin is also good. I was able to have someone stay with me during my time there, which was nice.

I second the Barix clinics. I specifically traveled over three hours and went out of network so I could have my surgery there...and I couldn't be more pleased! Experienced surgeons with an excellent track record, the nurses on the floor were all stellar, and their aftercare program is superb. They won't leave you high and dry after the surgery. They truly love their patients and their jobs. They have a very low complication rate.
