Soft, Mushy foods question
Hi Friends, Ok so my NUT let me go to soft mushy foods. I know I can do a scrambled egg with melted cheese, but what else is soft, mushy, and has protien? Just to let you know... I can not stomach Yogurt or cottage cheese.. That stuff is NASTY to me... So any other suggestions for this finicky eater??!?!?!? I know I can do mashed Potatoes with unflavored protien, but is it really unflavored or can you tell its in there? Thanks in advance your advice!!
Love, Kathy
Here's what I was able to tolerate:
Lean Cuisine Mac and Cheese, kind of mu**** up with fork.
Tuna in a blender with fat free mayo and some pickle juice
I also could handle canned chicken in a blender with ff mayo and some other liquid to help blend it
you can also attempt to try (i did) some baby foods....I did and some were fine. some were gross. I liked the squash best. no protein but its palatable!
Also the lean cuisine meals have high sodium so watch it. most processed foods do.
try south beach diet foods if you can get them. just throw it in a blender.
i was also told Wendy's chili in a blender is a high source of protein. but I never tried it because they said it looked like baby poop! lmao
And i didnt like dairy after surgery-------so we are in the same boat.
I did my share of picking and hovering and never deciding..just have to try one thing at a time and see how you do.
Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!
Stacey
Thanks Stacey, for the great suggestions!! I probably should have added Tuna to the lists of food I don't like. Crazy I know..... But I will try some of the other idea's you mentioned. I am learning after only 1 week out that it is a trying to decide whats best type of thing. I do like Mac n cheese though, so we will see how that works!!
Thanks again!!
Kathy
Kathy-
Make some sf pudding with flavorless protein powder. I know I ate Dinty Moore beef stew blended. Looked gross but, tasted ok. Also refried beans with cheese melted on them. I think you would be fine with protein powder in the mashed potatoes. I used spray butter on them for flavor. Hummmm, seems like forever since I was on that stage. Wish I had put this info on my profile so I could remember. Good luck anyway. Teri
Thanks Kathy,
I'm so happy to read your posts and know you are doing so well. It makes me stronger. I did read your profile, however, and the fact that you said "what did I do to myself" right out of surgery has me a little nervous!!!! I know God will keep me, and at least I can prepare myself for that!!!
I'm going to be not too far behind ya. I have NO idea how you did 20 days of liquids... I'm on my 6th and I just want to die!!!! I am SO sick of SF Jello and broth! I don't even care if I eat at all...!!
I'm very happy for your success so far Kathy. Praise God!
