OMG.. I can honestly say the throwing up was nothing compared to the way I felt before I I am 3 weeks out and decided to try a little tuna with light mayo. Not a good choice . I dont know if my pouch just doesnt like tuna or it was too soon. I love tuna so I might try it again in a few weeks and see if its any better. Maybe it is just one of those food that i will never be able to eat Stacy

Stacy, Oh I couldn't eat tuna that soon. I was barely eating mashed potatoes then. Might want something softer, perhaps some low fat mac and cheese? healthy choice makes one and so does lean cuisine but I like hc better. 3 weeks for me I was eating smashed stuff and soft foods. Could be the tuna. And when i could finally eat tuna, I tried the kind in the bag...it has a bit more protein than canned. But is more expensive--but it tastes better to me. Feel better soon sweetie! I doubt very seriously that it was the tuna, it was the MAYO!! The mayo has some form of sugar in it. You might try the tuna without it and see how you do.

That early out I remember I could eat something fine one day and the very next day the same thing would not be tolerated at all! It is just trial and error at this point. I know many people said chicken was hard for them, but I did fine with chicken and it was beef that I had problems with for 8 months. Some people are very sensitive to any sugar and others not as intolerant. Good Luck with your journey. Mary

I think its a trial and error period too. I had the packaged tuna alone (right out of the pack) and with light miracle whip and its only 2 grams of sugar. I also had the chicken too. I have had two episodes but not with that. I didnt have a problem either way

Question: are we suppose to eat tuna 3 weeks out? I was told to be on liquids for 2 weeks post op, then pureed foods for 2 more weeks then soft foods 2 weeks after that and then incorporate other foods 2 weeks after that... I couldn't -- wouldn't even touch tuna until I was 8 weeks out.... but like some here said, one day you can eat it and the next you can't........ that is 100 percent right!!! Just curious did you have lap band or rny? Stacey

I had RNY but one of the things that they said i could eat with my pureed was tuna and chicken if i ran it through a food chopper first and then use light mircle whip. The sugar content was within what I am allowed to eat. I guess it just doesnt like me just yet. Stacy

I also think it's a little early for tuna...at least it was for me. I think it was at least 3 months out before I could eat more than a few nibbles. For some reason, it is dense and filling for a new pouch. Same with scrambled eggs...you wouldn't think so, because they are so light and fluffy, but wow, go slow with those! Two bites and I was TOO FULL! Trial and error, that's what you do, but just go slow...tiny bites, lots of chewing, swallow, and WAIT! At least 10 seconds or so, cuz sometimes you don't even know you're full till it hits the tummy. Best of luck! Theresa P.S. Don't get discouraged...this doesn't last forever and you will be eating very comfortably before long.

Just remember that meat of any kind can be "dry". Use caution when eating. I am three years out and STILL have problems with meat being to dry. I always eat my meat with BBQ sauce, sour cream, etc.... For me, chicken is my worse enemy but other people do just fine with it. Every day will be a trial period for quite awhile. Good Luck and don't get upset. I also know that like posted prior, one day you can or can't eat something and tomorrow you are the opposite.
