I'm CLEARED for surgery!!

Made the 3 hour drive (YUCK) to Warren today to have my pre-op appointment with the internal medicine doctor. He had gotten my records this morning and was going over them before I arrived, so everything was nice and fresh in his head. My sinuses are still giving me some fits and I think I am having some allergy problems with all the stuff flying around outside. I started to take Claritin D and he does not have any problems with that and said it will not affect my having surgery. One thing he noticed in my lab reports that were done last month was 'blood in my urine'. I thought that was strange, as I do not notice any when I use the bathroom. He had me give another urine sample today and again it came back with blood in my urine. Must be a small amount because I sure did not see any! He said to let my PCP know and follow up later. But it is not something to flag me from having the surgery. He had me do an EKG and a breathing test so they can get a baseline to monitor me during surgery. THEN, he cleared me for surgery and said he will see me in the hospital! As I was leaving they were faxing my information to Dr. Pesta. I meet with Dr. Pesta on Monday and should get my surgery date then! Michelle

That's great news, i'm so happy for you. That's funny you mentioned the blood in the urine. My daughter is also having this problem, she's 11 , and shes having a great deal of pain in her left side. They cannot figure out what is going on! They have already done a ultrasound and ruled out a tumor or a stone, so we are very worried and hoping for answers soon. Hugs Linda
