INS. AND ACCEPTED DIETS
Hello Barb
Been there done that. funny NOT!
they can be a real pain til ya threaten to call the medical director or turn them in to the insurance commisioner(for refusing information) and even then they are not the greatest to deal with. I have had virtually no help from anyone navigating thru their system...and I use the term loosely.
I can tell you that it HAS TO BE
1. physician supervised
2. it must be a minimum of 16 weeks long
3. you have to have two attempts in the last 24 months
4. one of the two attempts has to be in the last 12 months.
I don't know what else they have told you but that is not the whole list of criteria you MUST meet to qualify.
If you have more ?????'s just drop me an email

Marsha, hi, I just sent you an email but found out it didn,t go through. I git a email saying that there wasn,t such an address. So I am trying this way and hope it does this time. I am so glad to hear from someone with gl I have questions. Do I have to do 2 diet attempts back to back which would be 32 weeks of dieting with my physican. My surgeons office just mailed in my appeal this past fri. Do I have to do 2 different kinds of diets? Here are my comorbids type 2 diabetes, bmi of 48,high blood pressure, high cholesterol, osteoarthirtis, degenerative arthritis, herniated back discs, depression, abdominal hernia, joint pain and I am more then 100lbs. Overweight, stress incontince. Please let me know if there is more on the list that I need to qualify. When are you getting your surgery I take it you haven,t had it and thats what wings in waiting means. I am so glad to hear from you, you made my day I felt like I was the only one out here with gl. I am going to call them tomorrow and tell them I am going to call the medical director or turn them in to the ins commision for refusing me information. Thanks again if I hear back from you I'll know you got this email thanks barb
