Consult Date!

Well, I finally made my decision of where I am going and I have my consult scheduled for July 12. I will be hobbling in on crutches possibly because I am having knee surgery on June 20th, but I am so excited that my consult is set. I have already filled out the request at my PCP for my records, requested a letter of referral from my PCP, spoke with my shrik about doing the psych eval (he will), and I have already started slowly stocking up on my stuff for my liquid diet and pricing protien drinks and vitamins. I am about halfway, or more through filling out all the paperwork they semt me. Depending on their schedule and any requirements my insurance may put on me, I am hoping to be on the losing side sometime in the fall. I can't wait. Shawn 296

Hi Shawn, I just went for my consult @ the Hurley Center on Tuesday with Dr. Obeid. I had prevoiously started with MMPC in Grand Rapids, but the distance was more than I wanted to travel from where i live in northern Lapeer County.... I had been cleared for surgery @ MMPC, I was just waiting for a date. You will like the group @ Hurley. Connie

Horray for you, Shawn! What surgeon is your consult with? You are in good hands at Hurley. The girls there are awesome and totally have their stuff together. I have not ever dealt with more caring people. Good luck to you... keep us posted on how things go! My consult was with Dr. Farhan on April 12th and on May 15th I got my approval from insurance and two days laster, my date was set. They move fast. Oh... I am so happy for you!!

Brandee, I am meeting with Dr. Farhan as well. I sure do hope things move that quickly for me. I guess it all hangs on the insurance. Thanks for the positive comments about Hurley. It is always good to hear great things about the place I decided to use for my WLS. Shawn 296
