Hello All!
Hi ya!
This will be my first post here so please be gentle. My surgery was 2 weeks ago and I had the open Roux-en-y procedure, so far so good. I am having a terrible time with nausea and it will not stop. I have started on the soft food phase and no sooner I eat something I feel like I'm going to be sick, Is this normal? I know I need to adjust to my new stomach but it just never goes away. I am on Zofran and that's not even helping.
My body also does not want to give up any weight, anyone else have his situation in the beginning? I have not lost a pound yet....my emotions are all over the place and I know once I start to drop, I will feel so much better. Anyone that feels like helping...please do! God know's...I can use all the help I can get...lol...have a wonderful day !
Thanks
Maria

Hi Maria-
I had my surgery on 6/1/06. It has been exactly one week. I had a lot of nausa the first 5 days and then it passed. Are you still on pain meds? The liquid Lortab made me so sick so I went off it 3rd day after surgery. My nausa stopped. I would call the doctor if this continues because you are not getting enough nutrition. Don't worry about the scale. For some people it could take a while for all of the iv liquids to pass.
Good Luck
Romey
Romey,
Thanks so much for your help. I did have a Dr's appt today and we have changed over some of my meds to see if that could be my problem. I am so happy your doing good yourself...thanks so much for caring...please feel free to email me anytime, its nice to know someone that had their surgery round mine.....be well
Maria
