Hi Kim, I just got some Unjury and it is defiantly some good stuff. I found that if you buy a shaker it mixes a whole lot better. You can get those at meijers in the plastic container section. Before I got the shaker I mixed it in a cup with a spoon and it was clumpy and that grossed me out. I also tried the vanilla today and that actually mixes better than the chocolate. AND.... I went to the mall today and there is a coffee shop there named Gloria Jeans, they had sugar free Carmel syrup. I added some of that to the Unjury Vanilla with some milk and it tasted like a Carmel sundae. It was good!!! I'm not sure what to tell you about afterwards as I haven't had my surgery yet (June 14th) so I am kinda in the same boat as you. I figure I will just take it one day at a time and see what happens afterwards. About the only thing that I have tons stocked up on is the Carnation Instant Breakfast (no sugar added) I LOVE that stuff the most. It taste just like chocolate milk, and it mixes really well too. Good luck starting your liquids, it's really not that bad. I thought I would die but here I am 8 days into liquids and I am doing alright... Just 10 more days of liquids to go!!!!!! Hope this helps a little!

Kim, I love the flavored Unjury, I've never had the strawberry though. I could never get any kind of protein mix down, it literally gagged me. Joyce from the U.P. gave me some of the Unjury and I've been hooked ever since. I rarely use the unflavored because I truly love the vanilla in a glass of milk. Yummy good protein. Best of luck to you with your surgery. It's a whole new way of life. You're gonna love being the new you, I know I sure love the new me. Huggssssssssss, Frankie

This is how I feel about liquid protein: However, when I was first post op, I tried whatever I could, from powders to slim fast with milk and carnation instant breakfast low carb and ice, to whey proteins bought at stores. What I liked the best (and if I need it this is ALL I will drink) is ISOPURE clear protein from GNC stores. They run about 3.49 per bottle: and here is basic bottle label info: The Purest Fastest Clearest Whey Isopure ready-to-drink bottles... Apple Melon, Grape Frost, Alpine Punch, Pineapple Orange Banana, Mango Peach, and Blue Raspberry - have no sugar, no preservatives, no fat, no carbs, no lactose... filled with 40 grams of the purest, lightest, healthiest protein. With a fresh, clean, invigorating taste. Excellent kool-aide type flavors. When I was a new post-op I would keep a bottle of Isopure in the fridge and a shot glass in the freezer and pour the chilled Isopure into the frozen shot glass and sip, sip, sip. Easy and tasty too. Supplement facts Apple Melon: serving size 20 ounces, calories 160, fat 0, carbs 0, sugar 0, protein 40 grams ***I found Apple Melon addicting....and Blue Raspberry was great also.***** Those are my ideas for protein-- this is clear and you can enjoy it pre-made, right out of the bottle and it tastes good.

The unjury is the only thing I can stomach! Some people do love the isopure, but my NUT told me that only whey protein and soy protein have the essential amino acids that our bodies need to break down themselves. Some of the clear protein drinks do not allow our bodies to do the work and that is not as nutritional. However, some people do really well on it, so go figure. I personally LOVE the unjury chocolate in warm coffee, it is the only way I get my protein in. Yes, decaf mostly! I also have used the vanilla in orange sf koolaid and it tastes like creamsicles. The strawberry is good in milk, but it was too sweet for me so I don't use it. I would suggest buying the sample packets from unjury.com and trying them all and seeing. That is what I did because I had bought so much protein and threw it away. Wendy

Wendy the Isopure is Whey protein, you can also buy the powder that is supposed to mix clear as well. My NUT recommends it so as you said everyone tells you something different!

Well, I hadn't tried the isopure so I never read the label. I just avoided the clear stuff cause of what I was told! Thanks for the info. This is why I like these boards, I always learn from you guys! Wendy

Well Kim, it looks like I too am gonna add my voice to the chorus of "Unjury is great" voters here. I have bought only the unflavored - I am 5 weeks out - and believe me, you will, like I did, most likely get sick to death of icky sweet drinks and shakes etc...unflavored can be added to your cream of wheat cereal, instant oatmeal, plus its good in my folgers instant sf decaf coffee. Best of luck Kathryn

Hi Kim. Jerome and the folks from Unjury couldn't be nicer. I have tried a lot of proteins and this is the best for me, by far. I put 3 scoops of either vanilla or unflavored into 2 cups of milk and add a small package of s/f vanilla or butterscotch pudding....or I mix 1 1/2 scoops of chocolate into very hot tap water and have cocoa (this is my morning drink)...or mix vanilla into flattened orange soda (like diet faygo) and you have creamsicle flavor. It is very versitile...also, unflavored into soups or chili... you get the idea. Yes, they do have sample packets and their delivery is super quick. Ask about auto-delivery and get a discount. Go to Unjury.com. Diane
