TT ouestions
Hear I go. It's been 2 years since my open RNY. Since then I have had 2 knee replacements (rt & Lt), and back surgery for herniated disc. I have lost 180 pounds & have been plateaued now for over 6 months. Now I am considering a TT. Just turned a young 65 years old so now I'm on medicare. I have BC/BS PPO. I have heard that the insurance will cover the lower TT but I'm wondering if there is any chance that they will cover the upper part also. I have read that increased abdominal girth is a risk factor for cardiovascular problems in a diabetic. Oh, I forgot. I am a diabetic. I used to take over 100 units of insulin before wls now I'm down to 5 units. Even after losing the wt I can't seem to get off the insulin. I asked my endocrinologist about using this bit about increased abd girth as a possible reason for the ins company to cover the upper. He said he couldn't answer that question, he hadn't thought about that aspect. Told me to bring it up with my cardiologist, whom I am due to see soon. Just wondered if anyone else had ever had any luck getting the upper abd covered.
