New to Michigan and this message board. Looking for a place to adjust my lap-band

Hello, I am new to Michigan and excited to be in this beautiful place. I live in the Ann Arbor area and am wondering if anyone knows a good place for a lap band adjustment. I have had the band about 9 months now and have lost over 80lbs. I am at my ideal weight and am ready to have the band loosened! If anyone has any information on good resources around here, please let me know and of course if anyone wants me to talk them into having the band, I'll do that too! Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben! Welcome to Michigan and to the board! We have a great group of "Manly Men" that I'm sure you'll hear from...they are all wonderful and fun . I had open RNY last July, so I really don't know about lap-bands...we have a support group that meets the first Friday of each month between Chelsea and Ann Arbor. We'd love to have some new in-put and a different journey to learn about. My husband always comes, and Katie usually brings her husband, also. We're meeting tonight at Panera Bread on Jackson Rd. just before Zeeb, in Ann Arbor. We'll be there about 7p...think about joining us, and feel free to bring a guest or 2, or 3 . I am hoping to have the band. Not many people here have it, so I would love to pick your brain or profile. I would like to know what your experiences have been with the band. Any complications? Oh, and to answer your question about a place to adjust...I don't know about the Ann Arbor area. Sorry!

Congrats on your great weight loss. I had my lap-band surgery in Ypsilanti, just a hop, skip and a jump from you in Ann Arbor, I am sure they can hook you up. Welcome to Michigan. Also, since I am new lap-bander I would love to hear from you about your experiences with the band. Shelley
