Decision's

HI,My name is Shannon and I am thinking of having wls. Almost 2 years ago I had a heart attack.And 4 bypass's! I was 36 at the time! Also about 6 weeks ago I had a stint put in. I want to make sure that is the best for me. I am trying to make an educated decision.

It is scary with your history to make a decision to undergo another surgery. I have never had your problems, although I did have an enlarged heart and many other health problems. I can tell you that I am much healthier now and feel much better. My heart is almost normal, my cholesterol is low, my apnea is gone. My pre diabetic condition is gone. My high blood pressure and migraines are gone. It is always good for your health to lose weight, however you need to discuss the risks and positives with you surgeon before making the decision that is right for you. Shannon, It is my experience that the medical staff at MMPC are very thorough. I am sure they will make sure your health is the first consideration when evaluating you. Have you had any appt's yet? I had Dr. Kemmeter. I had an enlarged heart, high blood pressure, pre diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnia, and other issues you don't want to hear about. I am 4 months out and am off my blood pressure medicine, off my c-pap machine, my blood sugar is down to normal and I am much more active then I was. All this in just 4 months. It's a great step in the right direction. Please make sure your PCP and Cardio people are all on board with this. Mine were and they made the trip a lot easier. My cardio guy hugged me when he saw me after I hit goal and he had all my labs/charts. kp

My appt with mmpc is on June 9th.I basically want to get as much feedback as i can. I have talked to a lot of people both post-op and Health pro's. And i have heard a lot of good things and all of my Dr's have given me the go ahead.
