SUPPORT GROUP MEETING TODAY

Well I went to my first support group meeting this morning and I get there and there is nobody there!! I asked them at the hospital if I was in the right place and they said yes I was and they had no idea why there wasn't anyone there! They didn't have a sign on the door that it was cancelled or anything!!! I was so let down!!! I was looking forward to talking to people that have had their WLS and now I have to find someplace else that has support group meetings near me. Thanks for letting me vent my frustrations!!! That sucks, I know. The first meeting I went to had been canceled on line after I turned off my computer. But I persisted and caught up with folks. I wonder if they didn't have a meeting because of the holiday weekend?

Hi Judy, Just to let you know it's the SECOND Weds of each month not the first. We have changed the time to 6:00 instead of 6:30. We may also be moving the meeting place because we are going so much as a group. Probably Grandpa Tony's or The Texan. These are all recent developements. I have to leave work to so we will save you a seat. We are usually there for at least a couple of hours or so. No one is expected to stay that long we just have such a good time chatting we always lose track of time. Hi Sue! Wow...I'm so glad that I stumbled across this thread. I posted looking for a support group in the area for my daughter. I will be sure to forward this info to her.

Thanks Sue, But just an FYI it is the SECOND Wed. of each month at 6:00 now, we change the time to 6:00 instead of 6:30. We may also be moving our meetings because they have grown so much. I will keep everyone posted on the board so watch for details. Thanks again sue, Talk to you later.----Toni

Hi Judy! I'm sure that the meeting was cancelled due to the holiday. I know that they do that here (our are always the first monday of the month....which has several holidays) they let people know ahead of time that regularly attend the meetings, but I don't think they take into consideration someone new that might pop in. Where is the meeting that you were trying to attend? I'm looking for some support group options for my daughter in the Midland/BayCity/Saginaw area. Thanks, Sara
