I saw a police chase today!!
So, I am sitting at this light at the corner of Greenfield and 10 mile coming back from lunch. This red truck hauling lawn care equipment being chased by police cars comes barreling through the intersection, flies over the center median right next me, crashes through poilce cars trying to stop him, crashes through the gas station, turns onto 10 mile crashing into cars as it goes and then flies towards the freeway. The sounds of crashing cars was horrific. People were running and trying to help those in the cars that were hit. I was so freaked out I had to pull over and call Matt to talk to me down. I had no idea where he had gone or if he would turn around and come back my way. All of this happened like 100 feet from me.
I then head back to work and get to the corner of 10 mile and evergreen where there are more smashed up police cars, fire truck, and wreckage all over the road. The helicoptors are circling and poilce are swarming the entire area.
wMy sister tells me later that the news said he finally crashed into the wall on 696. I will watch the news when I get home.
Last week I saw a pedestrian hit and killed across the street from me. What is in the water these days? Maybe I am actually in the matrix and all of this is made up(dramatic I know), but still......
sad to say, but for that area, why am i not surprised. I mean the month i left there was that attempted double homicide(attempt murder/suicide) and the one guy that broke in anothers apt and got shot. Not to mention that when we first moved in some guy got arrested for drowning his son in the bathtub . . .
*shudders*
How unnerving! I hope you are feeling a little calmer now. I also lived in that area but have been gone for over 18 years and can tell you what others have said about this sort of thing can happen anywhere. It is the world we live in. Sadly..
None the less when you are in the middle of it like you were today none of that matters. It certainly is no fun. Thank goodness you are ok and were not injured AND think about it.. The person could have hit one of those gas tanks and blew up a lot of things. I've actually seen that happen when some doofus was mad at his wife and intentionally drove into a gas line in a mobile home park. That was in the last few years in Livingston County where it is erroneously persumed to be safer. People there think they are in eutopia and leave their cars, homes etc unlocked and then wonder why they were B&E'd? Like they left their brains back in Oakland, Waye or whatever county they moved from.
Relax tonight and be careful out there..

omg Terri...I know how you must have felt!!! Once I saw an accident right in front of where I worked...a car ran the red light and hit another car and it flipped over and over I was so histarical I couldn't call 911 to report it!!! I was crying and shaking so bad. The world we live in is so full of idiots that think they can do no wrong and who gets hurt?? the innocent ones!!!
Hope you are feeling better tonight!!
Hugs Judy
