My husband is really concerned with me losing too much weight. I only have 100 pounds to lose but of course could stand to lose like 125. Do you know of anyone who has lost too much weight and what they do to make sure that doesn't happen? Thanks, Diane Surgery date July 17

At 5 foot, you need to be 100 lbs. For every inch after that, you need to add 5 lbs. Ok, I'm 5'4", so I should be 120 lbs. However, depending on your frame size, you can be 10% +/- that. So, I could be as low as 108 or as high as 132. You need to talk to your doctor as to what is right for you.

Thanks so much for that info. I wasn't aware of that! I am 5 '7 and so that would put me at around 135. Sounds good to me Thanks for the info I can share with my DH. Diane

I have not really known anyone that happened to. My husaband was just a little too thin for a while, but regained 10-15 pounds. You will regain a little and level off over time. That would not really be something to worry about though.

Hi Terri, Thanks so much for your info. My husband of course is just worried and I just don't know what to tell him because I don't know. I have read a lot of your posts. How are you doing these days? I hope you are feeling better! I have thought of you and hoped things are better. Hang in there girl!!! Thanks again for all the info. Diane

Diane, I got too small for my liking.... I looked real gaunt and I was seeing bones stick out wear I had never seen them before!!! lol!! But... with few simple diet changes.....adding more carbs slowly and upping your calories you can gain and level out!!! that's what I have done now!! I am staying steady at 127..... and I am 5'3".... that put's me in a comfortable size 5. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask! Nikki

Hey Nikki! Wow Thank you so much for responding. It is good to hear a first hand story! I am coping all of these responses so I can share them with my husband so maybe he can be a little more supportive. Thanks so much for the input! Diane

Diane, I also had 100 lbs to lose and I lost just over that that at 5'2 I weigh 127 and wearing size 4 some 2's but I was down to 118 so at 127 I'm ok with it. Even if you do lose under you will gain a few back. I think most of us in time add carbs back and depending on your body some sweets. I can do sugar with no problem and that is a big problem for me. I can't do any thing with grease so at least that part of the surgery is still on my side. Good Luck with your surgery and don't worry about losing too much you will balance out. Renee

I blew past my goal and was getting nervous. I modified my diet and got almost back to my goal but I lost 3 lbs this past week so I don't know where I'll end up. They sya e bounce back up a little as we adjust or roux limb/common conduit absorption rate. Usually about 10% . We'll see. kp
