Hey all!!! Has anyone seen this list???? It was a list of things to have packed for the hospital and then another for when you come home from surgery......it was so GREAT, but I can't seem to find it anywhere! If anyone can help, it would be really APPRECIATED! Thanks! Anne

i've seen LOTS of lists on lots of profiles, websites and posts. All they did for me was leave me at the hospital with way too much junk. if you have a good hospital and some support they'll get you everything you need. all you're gonna really want anyhow is some ice water, some jello, and a lot of pain killers. lol. by the time i needed anything else (five or six days post op) i was able to get whatever i needed on my own. i was driving and riding my my bicycle by then. don't sweat it, you've got professionals taking care of you and hopefully a few friends and loved ones watching out for you.

Hi Anne, There really is no set list of what to take to the hospital. I took way to much stuff. You will want to take the following items: Chap stick, Hand and body lotion, Comb/brush, toothpaste/toothbrush, Feminine products (just in case, many women start their peroid at this time from the stress of having surgery), slip on slippers, change of undergarnents. Things you may want to take, but aren't neccesary are robe and night gown or pj's, a magazine, your own pillow, and a pillow to hold against your stomach/abdomen for the ride home. If you use a cane, walker or wheelchair you will want to take them. You will most likely not want to do much while you are in the hospital, except relax and push the button. : ) God bless you, Annette

Anne- I see you have Dr Schram at Barix. Barix will provide you with everything you need as far as chap stick, deo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, slipper socks. You don't need to bring any of these things with you. They give you a pillow to take home with you. The only things you will need are clothes to ride home in - and to be perfectly honest I wore a nightgown home - with a hospital gown over it. I didn't have a robe. It was much more comfortable than trying to get dressed and having to mess with pulling up pants. Make sure you have slip-on shoes or slippers to wear home. Good Luck with your surgery. Teri

Anne- Unfortunately it won't take you long to read my bio. I wasn't good at updating it. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions, though. I will answer anything I can. Yes, Fulton is next to Vicksburg. We actually live on the edge of the Fulton/Climax line. Teri

I'll list what I took, and what I wore home, and what I had ready at home: What I took: toiletries, (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, comb) clean socks, clean underwear, a robe and slippers my journal for people to sign my list of people for my friend to call once out of surgery my portable cd player which I never used What I wore home: It was summer, and hot, I remember wearing home what I wore to the hospital, white shorts and a green shirt and my slippers. What I had ready at home: SUGAR FREE POPSICKLES SUGAR FREE JELLO SUGAR FREE BEVERAGES, LIKE KOOL AID BEEF BROTH, CHICKEN BROTH AND CLEAR JUICES I would dilute juice 1 part juice to 3 parts juice Comfortable pillows, someone to check in on me, someone to brea**** cubes for me, someone to take out the trash, someone to make my protein drinks - which I did not start until I was 3 weeks post op, someone to shop for me, and one week post op I was driving to the store myself because that's what you do when you live alone. hope this has been helpful. I was disoriented and out of it most of the time, I vaguely remember much about 'in patient' care. But I did write down alot pre op and post op so that's how I know.
