Hve anyone here had there surgery at the Barix Surgery here in Ypsilanti Michigan? If so how were you treated before and after surgery? Someone told me that they treat you like crap, But that was the first bad thing i have heard about them. So i need more than one opinion. I don't want to make a bad decision because this is my life.

I know I responded to your post about Dr. Kam, but thought I would chime in here also. I LOVED it at Barix Clinics. They have treated me with nothing but the upmost respect. I have taken brochures and have given them to friends that have asked me about the surgery. They are tremendous and you will love your experience with them and Dr. Kam.

My surgery isnt until the May 30th, but so far I have been bery happy. I am going to the office in Holland, but had all my pre-ops in Yypsi. In my opinion couldnt ask for better professional team, Everyone has been awsome! Hopes this helps, good luck. Stacy

HI, I went there for a consult 3 years ago when it was the Bariatric Treatment Center and it was filthy dirty. Trash over flowing in the rooms, pop cans on the floor, dirty table paper. I was dissapointed with the staff. The medical assistant was unable to find my pulse. Talk about scary. BUT......the Doctor was very nice and spent 2 hours with me. I did deciede to go to Beaumont in Royal Oak instead. I am now 3 years out and have lost 148 pounds. Best of luck, Robin

Hi faatima, Visit the Ontario board and ask the same question. There are a ton of recent graduates from Barix. I haven't heard anything bad at all about them. I was there in March for my consult and found the place to be immaculate and professional. You can also read the reviews on the Barix by going to one of the doctors pages that works there (like Dr. Poplawski) and clicking on Barix and reading reviews. I'm having surgery in July! Dawn

I just had my surgery there on March 15th! THEY ARE SO WONDEFUL! On a scale from 1-10 I give them a 20! The nurses there are so wonderful, and take there time, and KNOW all about gastric! It was the best choice I ever made to go thru there! I remember balling my eyes out going into Pre-op, But they all came and introduced themselves (nurses and Surgery Nurses) just to make sure I am comfortable. They were all by my bedside right b4 I went in, b/c I was so scared. They made me feel good, and I would do it all over! Your in awesome hands there! Good luck hun K~

I've met quite a few folks that went through them and they did just fine. They want you to fart a lot apparently after you get through so be aware of that. But I haven't heard of anyone being treated poorly there. In fact, it was quite the opposite. kp
