Dear DR. Flabby and my OH Friends and Family, I need your help. Please!!
Unforfunately, I have gained a few pounds. Major stress, depression, junk. I need to get back on track. I need all your suggestions. Everything is being treated. but the depression has a major, major hold. I am glad all OH family are doing so well.
Any suggestions. I've come to far to backslide. please please help me get back on track. Happy is not so happy right now with summer coming. Thanks in advance
I may not be Dear Flabby (even though I'm flabby LOL) , but I would have to recommended starting over. Go back to the basics for a few days. You know liquid diet, soft diet lot's of protein, and water. This may help to get you back on track. Try to avoid the junk that is high in carbs and fats. Stay away from the sugar and S.F. products that are high in calorie's and fats, like S.F. Chocolate. That just makes me crave that kind of garbage. You are worth the struggle it takes to get yourself back on track. Hang in there girl you can do this. Best wishes as you continue this wonderful journey.
God bless you,
Annette.
Hi Bonnie: I am wishing you success in getting back on track. I know it can be difficult especially since you've had so much to deal with health wise and such. I think keeping a journal daily of food, water, and exercise is the way to go. I have done it everyday since surgery. (Well, I did have a little trouble doing it when we were on vacation. But as soon as I got home I went back to the routine!) The exercise will make you feel better in dealing with the stress! The endorphins it releases makes everything seem better. Annette is right, get the protein up and the liquids and stay away from the sugars and sugar alcohols they make you crave the wrong stuff. If you're on caffiene, get off it, too. It's a diuretic and cancels all the water you're drinking. Track at a minimum the calories and protein you're taking in. You can do this! Pam
Oh my dear sweet Pal,
I am so sorry you are going thru all of this. I hope you come to Frankenmuth. I am not sure where you live, but I know if you live on the west side there are several that come from that way and they like to carpool. Maybe you could carpool with someone. I think it would do you good to spend some time with your peers. You need to know that we all go thru the same thing. I would save you a seat right next to me. Besides I owe you a big hug for being such a great pal last round. Please think about it. If you want you can email me and we can talk about it. If you need ANYTHING please email me. Take care and God Bless---Toni
Hi,
I'm 9 months post op and I understand the depression. My Dad died in February, I had little support during my WLS, and I feel kind of lost now.
Take one day at a time, and take baby steps.
And I agree--- START OVER. Start by remembering WHERE you were this time last year and what did you do to get to where you are?
Journal what you eat, how you feel and everything you can.
I find writing and music are my two OUTS for my stress.
I wish I could be more help, but know that I will listen ANYTIME.
