OT: need advise on co-worker noise

This is actually kind of silly - but I am wondering what other people would do if you were in my situation. The gal who sits in the cubicle next to me "whisper" sings to the radio. I swear - all you can hear are the sssss's. It could quite possibly be one of the most annoying things ever!! I am chuckling as I write this...because it's almost funny. But it gets a little old day after day! However - I do chew ice...so maybe it's payback??!! LOLOLOL

BAH HAHA!! Great advice!! I was actually reading your profile when you responded! You look great! She really is a sweet gal. That's why I don't want to say anything to hurt her feelings. That is just not who I am! I am totally anemic and chew ice constantly! I know it drives my family batty. My surgeon is talking about an iron infusion. Yippee!! More time hooked up to an IV. But hey - I have to look at the bright side. I have been trying to figure out how to get some "me" time. I guess that would count. Right??

Hi Mary, The quickest way to get her to quit is to tell her to sing louder, that you can't hear her, all you can hear are the ssss's and you would rather hear her voice. It isn't a cut it would be a compliment, but she will be to embarrassed to sing louder so she will probably be more concious of her singing all together. She probably doesn't even realize you can hear her. And the ice thing.....I eat about 3-10lb bags a week plus whatever I pick up by the 44oz glass at least twice a day. I am suprised how many people it DOESN'T bother. The only person I have had complain is my boss' wife. I just make sure I don't eat lunch with her anymore....LOL. Good luck----Toni

Be honest with her!!! Let her know you can hear only the ssssssssss sound and it drives you insane!! I have a co-worker that clears his sinuses at his desk several times a day. One day I just got up and looked at him and said look you keep that up and I WILL be forced to on your lap. Take note buddy I have a very weak stomach and can on command without a finger down my throat!! He not only stopped but a few weeks later was moved to another spot in the farm cubes as far as he could possibly be from me or anyone else. You see someone overheard my pleas for him to take it to the bathroom to do personal things and moved his behind closer to the bathroom for his own sanity, guess this person also had a weak tummy and was also quite tired of listening to it. This person also "spits rap" all day long using vulgar language and others had tired of hearing that. So spit some truth her way you never know what can happen!!! LOL Now I have a question, how do you tell the office stink bomb that he needs to more often or maybe use some Softkin wipes after he ??? Now that one is rough because other than the smell he is a swell guy!!! I just hold my nose Jill sitting near a quiet but smelly co-worker

Accompany her on the bean horn. A few carefully placed blasts of bariatric bowel banter and she will stop. When she asks for you to cut it out just tell her it was her singing that inspired you. kp
