Henry Ford Support Group

Does anyone know when the next support group meeting is?? What time does it start? Thanks so much! Nancy

Hi Nancy, Tonight it starts at 6:00pm at the C.A.M. where you go for the 4 hr N/N consultation. I suggest you try to get there a little bit early to get a good seat. We are with Annette (our nut.) tonight. The next one will be on the 25th with Dr. Eschelman (our psych). They are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. Always at the C.A.M., always at 6:00. Except, On the 2nd Tuesday's in January and July, which is centurian induction night. On those two dates they are on the 2nd floor of the main hospital. Hope this help's. I SWEAR WE ARE SO CONNECTED IT'S WEIRD!! You must not have read my email to you this morning!! I JUST asked you to go with me to a HF meeting, thinking it would be really good for us to talk to the nutritionist and their team! Too funny! That's just like us though...thinking of the same thing at the same time! Yes, I'm definately interested in going!!! We'll get together on times, rides, etc.. Talk soon, Theresa P.S. GREAT!! I am doing good too!!! I walked today! I listened to the song Stay...I love it. Maybe another time when they are playing John and I could meet up with you two. It feels so good to be back on track! Today I had regular coffee and I have to admit it is making me want to eat. But, I already have my dinner and my snack planned and I am sticking to it! Leighsa had an appt. this am(I hope she will post about it) with her family doctor and he is writing her a good letter! He has been documenting about her weight; sending her to a nutritionist, putting her on diets, having her come in to get weighed, her problem with high cholesterol, her sleep apnea, her asthma.....I really think she will be a go!!! Her doctor is wonderful! He is in Gladwin, Dr. Barreto. All she has to get is her records from Sleep Diagnostics in West Branch and she will have everything. Can you think of anything else she needs? I can not find my book that we had to read. She is just going to order herself one. Nan

What's the C.A.M.? I've only been dealing with Cori so far, and my inittial opinion is they've been good, but I've only talked to my patient rep so far. But I'm thinking maybe I should check out Henry Ford and Barix.

Hi Patty, The C.A.M. Is a part of Henry Ford Hospital. It's located a couple of blocks from the main hospital in Detroit. The C.A.M. is also known as the Center for Athletic Medicine. I also started out with C.O.R.I. I would recomended Henry Ford To Anyone considering this surgery. I have never experienced a hospital or staff like the Henry Ford Bariatric Team. They are truely amazing. I know many people say their surgeon is the best, but my surgeon and his team really are the best. God bless you, Annette
