Good Morning, I am curious as to what others eat in the course of an average day. So post your "menus" and favorites. It might just inspire some new ideas! I always start my day with a protein shake. Two to three hours later it is cereal "(Special K if my fav,) then about 3-4 hours later is lunch, usually a small serving of leftovers from dinner the night before or a sandwich, or sometimes some crackers and cheese. For supper I eat whatever the family is having only in much smaller amounts. Snacking in the late evening is my weak area - so I really have to watch myself at that time of day. Usually it is just head hunger, but if I am truly hungry then I will have a small bowl of cereal before bedtime. SF popsicles are also a really yummy treat and clean the yucky taste out of my mouth that I sometimes get! Have a great day! Hugzzz, Pam

Pam: Since I've been sick, I haven't been eating too much at all and as of today I started losing some more weight. Down about another 1-1/2 lbs this morning. Since the thought of food makes me gag with this sore throat, I always make sure I get in protein mixed with my International Delights Suisse Mocha! I found it in sugar free and caffiene free! (and on SALE). I can't taste anything right now either, so I just enjoy something hot on my throat! Yesterday for lunch I ordered the London Broil and had mashed potatoes and asparagus with it. Couldn't get much down, but I tried to concentrate on the meat. For what could have been dinner, I had some cheese soup and about 6 oyster crackers. When I finally got home I got more fluids in and then made a smoothie with my protein, ice, a little milk, some vanilla yogurt, and a 1/2 scoop of the Big Train Blended Ice mocha flavor. That all got me to 100 grams of protein for the day, but only about 900 calories. To stay where I've been I need around 1500 calories and daily exercise, so I need to watch that! Normally, I don't have so much protein by way of scoops of it. I try to do it with regular food. I make sure I eat protein FIRST and then worry about any other foods. I still have trouble with chicken (white meat mostly) but can eat beef pretty easily. Other choices might be tuna, some peanut butter on an apple (just occassionally), deli meats (these go down easier than other meats), etc... Still have to chew like crazy, but that's a good thing. Sometimes I have oatmeal with flavorless protein in the a.m. Be careful on the cereal, it usually doesn't have a lot of protein in it. How are you doing on the grams per day? I count my calories and protein only and have done pretty well with that. Don't know if that helps, maybe when I get to feeling better, I will post again on what I am eating, my brain is in a fog with this cold/sore throat right now! Pam

What a coinkydink. I wrote my menu for someone yesterday. It's kinda like yours cept I pepper it with a protein bar and fruit like apples, oranges or grapes. They say the best fruit for us are berries? I dunno. It's all good. BTW - I like your style. kp

Food? We are suppose to eat food? hahahahahaha...ok I guess so. My typical day varies when I feel icky to when I feel good I eat differently. But today: (remember I work 4p-12am so I eat later in the day) Breakfast (1130am) 1 cup coffee and Power Crunch Protein Bar and 1 multivitamin Lunch: 1/3 cup bagged (not canned) tuna fish mixed with fat free mayo, mustard and pepperocini's on one slice whole wheat toast 1/2 cup skim milk 2 spoonfuls applesauce Dinner: 1/4 pound ground sirloin burger grilled on my george foreman, worchestorshire sauce, pepper, garlic powder, canned peas (1/3 cup) and 1/3 cup mashed potatoes. Snack (after work) about 5 pieces - they are small of cod- baked on cookie sheet in pam - lots of protein here too also around 8-9 pm I eat another protein bar (each carries 14 gms protein) Throughout the evening I drink about 1/2 gallon water or decaf tea ****d baby) and since I've been battling a little sore throat, some decaf hot tea with lemon as well as desired. I often snack on pretzels (low sodium), part skim cheese sticks, triscuits, baked goldfish crackers or if I'm really in the mood -golden raisins. I enjoy Slim Fast Sugar Free (ok, low sugar) Fudgesicles, Klondike makes a sugar free fat free Ice Cream Sandwich, and I rarely eat popsicles anymore. I ate 2,000,000 of them right after surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
