6 month supervised diet
Hi, I haven't been here in a long time because I was denied in 2004 by my insurance co.
I took that as a sign to try it on my own, one more time.
Well I tried and failed.
No I am getting the ball rolling again.
I was turned down by my PPOM insurance due to the lack of a "recent" 6 month supervised diet.
I am just wondering what others did to satisfy this requirement.
Was there anything your general doctor could say in his/her report to wave this requirement?
Thank you for any advice you can share.
I had to do a year of supervised dieting... My dr. would not wiggle on this at all. If it is not docutment that you discussed diet and worked out a plan of action, I doubt that your dr. would FLAT OUT say you dieted. Yes, my dr. told me my problems were due to weight and he mentioned dieting TO me, but unless there is real DOCUMENTATION, I doubt you can get around it.
Hate say it this way, but you may have to suck it up and see the dr and a dietician/nutritionist. 6 months isn't so long, I have been there.
Good luck,
Tiffany
I too have to do the 6 month diet. My doc wrote down all my diet history, and even called them. They wouldn't budge, have to have a consistant monthly history. So I started the end of jan. The ins company called me in march to see how I was doing, and I asked her just how picky they would be, since my time would be up the end of July, but we are going on vacation then so would they take it earlier, say the first to middle of the month, and she said that they want the FULL 6 months! Shee****hey sure do want it their way don't they!!!! Good luck, you are not alone! Ann
