Co-Morbidities and WLS

Hello All, My mom has been thinking about WLS but has some concerns because she has CHF and HTN, etc. (most concerned about CHF) She has not spoke with a surgeon about it yet. I was just wondering if anyone had these or any other co- morbidities that they felt would make them high risk?????????????????????? All comments appreciated. Diva

Morning Diva, What do CHF and HTN stand for. Maybe its jsut to early for me since Ive not had coffee yet? Kathryn

Kathryn, I'm sorry for the abbreviations!!! CHF is congestive heart failure and HTN is hypertension, I just threw the terms out there without thinking that everyone would not automatically know. Diva

Hi Diva, I had CHF but it was under control when I had my surgery. As for the other, HTN I am not sure what that is. Hope she has good luck finding out. Take care De

Hi Again, I had hypertension also, was taking 4 pills a day for it 2x a day. When I had my surgery, it disappeared! I am sad to say it has returned with my weight gain. Praying to get that taken care of soon! (PLEASE BCN!) Take care De
