OT: Postal question
Ok, I just realized how dumb I am. I sent my appeal package certified mail, but forgot to ask for return receipt, which proves it was delivered. However, I can still track it online. It says it arrived at "unit" Detroit 48202 April 4 at 1:54 pm. What does that mean? Does that mean it arrived at the Detroit post office branch, or does that mean it arrived at its destination address? It only gives city and zip and not full address. Im thinking that means the Detroit post office, but I don't know.
You will be able to check on line to see when it was delivered. If you need a signature as proof, you can pay an additional fee and get it at your post office (after delivery). I think it is about a $3 fee if requested without the return card. The PO can get it off their computer for you.
I work at the post office now, but we do not get many requests for the signature after delivery. Most people pay for the return card, it's cheaper.
