I am 5 days post-op and have been on clear liquidis with no problems, but today I feel like if I have to drink water, broth, ect for much longer.. I don't have my first post-op visit till next Wed. I hope I move on to at least full liquids. I know it sounds terrible but I have five more days of this, I don't really feel hungry I just think I crave different tastes or texture..any input would help...My whole family has had this done over the last five years and didn't really follow everything to a tee and I feel they didn't benifet fron the whole thing as much as they should have...they are all micro pouchers I opted for the laproscopic with Dr. Kole..thanks for listening

Hi Margaret, Just remember it won't always be like this. Life someday be a lot closer to normal. I do remember the days of just wanting something to crunch. It won't be long, remember and learn from the mistakes of the people that have come before you and you will be a great sucess. Good luck on your journey. God Bless----Toni

Hi, You pretty much have a micro pouch even lap because Dr. Kole is an artist with surgical chop sticks. He can get that puppy down pretty small - I think 2 cc's? Also your old stomach is there and you will feel it doing it's thing although nothing is in there. It could be head hunger and it could be real. I wish I could give you a remedy but the only thing that really helps is time. Make sure you are getting in the liquids and your broth. I liked cooking up campbells chicken or beef soup, skimming the broth then cutting it by 33%. It was better than that stuff that is already made. When you water down 2oz of broth with 1oz of water it lowers the sodium and fat. Remember that the tastes will be weird too as you clear your system of the anesthetic so go in baby steps. Try the S/F Jello and maybe a little Isopure. I would drink it warm at first so you don't spaz your pouch. At least at room temperature. And keep walking!! Even when you don't want to make sure you move. It keeps your chitlins working. Walking and sipping is an all day affair at this point. It gets better every day. kp

I am right there with you!!! I have one more week to go before my surgery, and I am dying to taste something!! My surgeon is trying something new...3 week liquid pre-op diet!! I have managed to get through my first 14 days, but it is very hard. I long for the texture and taste too! I am told that after enduring this pre-op, post -op will be a breeze. Right now I am limited too 5 protien shakes/ pudding per day, coffee, tea, and diet soda. I keep fantasizing, about how good that broth will taste after surgery!!! Keep you head up, and stick too doctors orders, time will pass soon enough.
