I am having Surgery with Dr. Wood On April 6th. I feel all this bad talk about the Cori Center Is kinda hard to take when someone is 6 days from surgery. There are many others who all ready have a surgery date also, w/ Drs From Cori. This decision we have made to have WLS was not easy and choosing the right Dr. is a tough job also. Every day there are new people researching WLS. So they come to this board to see what other people have done and what drs they have used. Amy at the cori center has help me greatly , she has been there for me with every question I need answered at any time of the day( or night) . She has been awesome. As for the other office girls I don't know . When I had my consultation some of the girls were ok some needed some help. But I was there to meet Dr. Wood, and really to judge him not what was going on in the office. Believe me If someone there gives me a hard time they will get a harder time back from me. I just want to have a safe uneventful surgery. I am nervous but very excited also. Just waiting for my big day. Sorry if this sounds mean but when you are nervous and all, negative vibes are hard to handle. God Bless

Dr Wood is the bomb...I trust him totally!! He is taking out my Gall Bladder April 10th. He is a fine surgeon & he does a great job!! The last time I was @ Cori I did notice a bit of shift in staff, but you aren't having surgery @ the office you are having it @ Haper Hospital ,were I have always been treated great & gotten nothing but good care. This will be my 4th surgery(not all WLS related) @ Harper. God Bless You & Good Luck on your journey. Linda 309/190/140

Dr. Wood is an excellent sugeon ( I should know). I don't think that anyone has ever said anything negative about the surgeons at CORI (now or in the past). The problems are more clerical and scheduling. But when you're looking for a surgical place you NEED to judge both the surgeon and the office as a whole. Before you commit to having surgery with ANY surgical center you're gonna need to know a lot about it. Are you going to have to wait 3 hours to get into for follow up appointments? Do they return phone calls with in 24 hours? 48 hours? at all???? Who do you call with problems?? Do you talk with the nurse? Do you talk with your surgeon? These are all questions that will be very important to you after surgery. There are some people who have always gotten great service at CORI, there are others who have not. The bottom line is you have to be comfortable with who you picked to do your surgery. If you are then GREAT!!! As far as the negativeness - this site is a support group. In supporting there is sharing ones experience, that includes the good and the bad. I think most of us have share equally the good and the bad about CORI. ( especially KP who's gone waaay out of his way to support CORI, to the point of making some of us very mad at him) If the negativity bothers you then I'd suggest not reading the posts concerning CORI right now. It's not going to do you any good to get all stressed out before your surgery! I wish the BEST for you!!! Laurie

Hi DeAnn, I just recently had surgery with the Cori Center and have found my experience to be positive. I had Dr. Kole, whom I really liked, and the office appeared to be running like a clock. I was told that I would have to wait endlessly for my first appointment but I didn't. The 1st post op appointment did take some time but we had a meeting the the nutritionist, which I found very helpful. I did notice everyone at the office was smiling and said hello. I felt welcome. I hope you experience the same thing. Good Luck, Mary

Oh, I so agree with you! I am also having surgery with Dr. Wood at Cori. And, lately, I have been reading so many negative comments about Cori, which scares me. I even called another center to check out another surgeon because of it. My feeling is that I trust Dr. Wood and he is the one opening up my body and moving things around. That is ultimately the most important thing to feel good about. I know the aftercare is very important and I'm sure Cori will be fine with it. Don't listen to the negative stuff. Enjoy your journey! And, please let us know how it goes with Dr.Wood. I would love to hear from you post op since I will be experiencing the same thing soon. Are you getting the mini pouch??? Janet

Hi DeAnn, You don't sound mean at all. I do have to say when people come here they get the good, the bad, and the ugly. That is how we make well educated choice's. I started out with C.O.R.I., but ended up at Henry Ford detroit. Personally I'm very happy with the change. As long as you've done your research, and trust your judgement you are fine and should be happy with your decision. It is very normal to be nervous this close to your date. God bless you, Annette
