I would recommend Dr Teck Mun Soo, Michigan Spine and Brain Surgeons, Chief, Neurosurgery, Providence Hospital. He treats Failed Back Surgeries that other surgeons have performed. I'm taking my daughter (25 years old) to him because her back surgery went badly two years ago with another doctor. After looking at her "before" MRIs, Dr Soo said that he would never have recommended her for fusion surgery. We had had three opinions. Good luck.

I had an orthopedic doc do mine. Dr David Montgomery at Beaumont, his skill as a surgeon is beautiful, his bedside manner sucks big time. I left his practice because of that issue, I find it hard to communicate with a doc that has about as much personality as a wet sheet of paper. If you can overlook a horrible personality he is a great surgeon---by the way I had a lumbar fusion done L2-4 and it worked wonders!!! I got my follow up care and physical therapy through Michigan Spine Care and Dr Richard Kovan who is out of Genesys in Flint, he has an office in Auburn Hills. I came to know Dr Kovan through work comp, he came highly recommended and will give a great second opinion. I also liked that hospital better when I had to have spinal injections done after my surgery. I love Beaumont but sometimes you get to feel like you are just another piece of meat there, one that they want to grill up and add all the extras to, then charge you through the nose for everything. Watch them they LOVE to pad bills, I am still fighting with some from last year, they keep trying to bill me for "things not covered by insurance" things I am finding out were never done. Buyer Beware!!! and after all we are consumers when looking for a hospital. Jill
