my mother in law is going through this right now, already had a disc removed and didn't help the pain any. But the surgeon she had sucked and was horrible to her, so we are now looking for a new one also. If you do find one please let me know. Whatever you do, do not go to dr rapp in clarkston. Thanks Linda

i saw Dr. Grain in Clarkston and he seems okay, his license is clean of complaints, fines and disciplinary actions but i definitely want a 2nd opinion. Also he works out of POH, North Oakland or Crittenton and a nurse i know who used to live in this area told me she wouldn't use any of those three hospitals so i'm not sure what to do. i'll let you know what i find out, Linda.

My husband just went in for a decompression about 6 weeks ago and although it helped with his siatic nerve a bit his back is still terrible..they did another MRI and his three disks have slipped (he had herniated them about 5 years ago) and he now has spurs, so now he will be going back under for a fusion and to have a rod put in. He is going to Dr. Jackson at Genesys in Grand Blanc and he really really likes and respects him. He has a very good reputation. You may want to look him up.. just a suggestion.

Have you checked the doctors at Henry Ford or Beaumont?

I will tell you Jay that it is of course personal preference but I have heard so many horror stories about neurosurgeons and back surgery lately...My husband had a lamenctomy and fusion with rods and pins 2 years ago with Dr. Alhgren at Troy Beaumont, who is an orthepedic surgeon. His office is in the hospital. He was recommended by several of the nurses there. Which tells me a lot cause they work with the docs. He will be at the manly men meeting if you want to talk to him about it. He had great results and a great experience with the doctor even his PA Pam is good.

I have neurosurgery in March 1990 and I had Dr. Ghaus Malik via Henry Ford Hospital to have a tumor removed off my brain.

I must be doing something wrong, when i go to Beaumont's website for a referrel it only gives me Junn, Boodin and Rosenblum, not any of the doctors mentioned here. Thank you everyone.
