I've obviously been away a few days, but felt I should reply to this...because it's fun to think about all of it! This summer I plan on taking my 22 year old son to Atlanta to meet his father, they haven't seen each other since Jess was 6 months old. After years of not hearing from Jess's dad, I took the bull by the horns, and it is all working out well. My fondest childhood memory is "riding" my mighty steed in the back yard in the early evenings...my steed was a propane gas pig! As an only child I had to make my own fun. My father worked for the Detroit Redwings at Olympia and then at the Joe. I met many hockey players, including Gordie Howe (what a great guy) who also frequents the Big Boy in West Branch where three of my sons work (or used to work). I met Dorothy Hamil and several of the old Ice Follies stars. I don't play an instrument, however I was "instrumental" in the creation of three very talented young men. The oldest son plays drums and sings, the second son plays bass guitar and sings and the youngest plays trumpet, coronet, baritone, piano, guitar, and has acted and sung in several plays. I gave them all the talent I don't have! (My daughter can't carry a tune in a basket or play an instrument, but she is the best nurse I've ever known...even better than I was). A little known fact about me? I have completed two novels in my life. One I burned and the other is still in my word program...maybe I'll start another about this journey to health. We'll see. Love and best wishes to all, Mary
