Okay I know this is not the best topic to talk about but I have been having pains in my right side. I think it is constipation. I am normally like clockwork but lately my schedule has been so off with my new job etc that my routine is out of wack. The pain seems to be much more strong when I have to use the bathroom. Is there something that we can take that is safe and won't make us run to the bathroom for hours at a time?? Suzanne 300/150

This happens to me when i eat mushrooms or too many veggies or beans. For me it's trapped gas, and it takes a few days to work itself out. I usually just try gas-x and take tylenol. Maybe even try a stool softener. Hope you get to feeling better. Hugs Linda

Load down on the water. Double it! Also for quick relief there ain't nuthin like a butt missile. Glycerin suppositories make the world right again within 20 minutes and then you are done for that round. And you can melt down the unused ones and wipe them on your dashboard for a show room shine!! kp @ goal

Thanks KP for the laugh.... I cannot figure out one food that either makes me go or not go. I haven't had this trouble before so I want to make sure to take care of it while I can. LOL Suzanne

I had the same problem and was suggested to eat flax seed (which I found in a wonderful granola online - link below) that is wonderful to keep that constipation issue away. Just a little bit (I mean about 1/4 cup) either snacking - it is low sugar low carb product- or in hot cereal or yogurt it helps me a lot. here is the url: -- there are several flavors but I recommend the cinnamon!!! http://www.allstarhealth.com/de.aspx?&p=3124 try it and see if it works for you like it did me. But a word of warning-- eat too much of this good tasting stuff and it has a laxative effect!!!

If you can handle a small muffin, I have a good recipe for bran muffins. They have really done the trick for me. I eat one a day, usually for breakfast. I add nuts to them for extra protein and then have a protein shake in the morning as well. They freeze wonderfully! Preheat oven to 375° F 1 ½ cups unbleached white flour ½ cup splenda (more or less depending on taste) 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1 ½ cups Unprocessed wheat Bran 1 ½ cups seedless raisins ¼ cup canola oil or applesauce 1 ½ cups ho****er 1 egg or 2 egg whites 1 tsp vanilla ¾ cup chopped nuts Stir together flour, splenda, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon. Combine in separate bowl, wheat bran, raisins, oil and HO****er. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Add the mixed dry ingredients and nuts; stir until all ingredients are moistened. Fill muffin tins. Bake 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. If freezing...make sure they are completely cool, wrap each one or put each one in zip lock baggy and then put all in one large freezer bag.
